Workshop Description
In
Finale: Navigating the Defaults, Eddie Lewis gives the novice Finale
user simple and easy to learn tips on how to use the software.
Finale is the industry’s standard for notation software. A
leader in this field for two decades, only one other competitor comes
close. Most would think that Finale has been able to stay one
step ahead all along.
The
problem with using music notation software is that it makes the process
TOO simple. It is very easy to produce professional looking printed
music now, but that ease of use sometimes keeps people from finishing the
job. From our discussions with many novice users over the years, we
believe this is because most Finale users don’t know how to go
that final distance.
The
issue here is in dealing with the defaults of the software. If you
only input the music and print with the defaults, then the music will be
difficult to read. In this workshop, Eddie Lewis will show you how
to finish the job.
A
data disk will be provided at the workshop for you to use in your own
writing. This disk will include templates and score examples for you to
study.
